What's Looking Good in January 2025

What a lovely colored rose !! What's the name of it? If you don't mind saying. 😁

Sorry Annie, nothing to tell. That is a rose which has been there for so long I can't remember. The whole fence line originally planted with lavender and roses has been neglected in the last few years while the health problems have been going on. It needs a total overhaul. Maybe I'll be able to get to it in the spring when it warms up a bit. In the meantime I have tried to tart up the flower beds a bit. 😁

Man !! I love that clematis but, unfortunately, it's not available in the States !!😥
It's not been available here until a few years ago. Do you know of any growers there who might be able to import plants to propagate? It's not so hard to do clem cuttings - they have to be inter nodal with just one pair of leaves that sit directly on top of the compost, and spaced out in a tray without touching each other. They should be taken in the very coolest part of the day, as cutting material droops very very quickly. At the nursery, I used to get to work at the crack of dawn to do them and had usually completed the job before anyone else turned up - even the boss!

Jackson and Perkins has a US site online, that's where I checked first, but they don't offer the winter clematis for sale on their US website. All the other sites listed were for the UK.
