Man !! I love that clematis but, unfortunately, it's not available in the States !!A lovely clematis called ''winter beauty'' the petals are quite waxy, great for this time of year.
It's not been available here until a few years ago. Do you know of any growers there who might be able to import plants to propagate? It's not so hard to do clem cuttings - they have to be inter nodal with just one pair of leaves that sit directly on top of the compost, and spaced out in a tray without touching each other. They should be taken in the very coolest part of the day, as cutting material droops very very quickly. At the nursery, I used to get to work at the crack of dawn to do them and had usually completed the job before anyone else turned up - even the boss!Man !! Jackson and Perkins has a US site online, that's where I checked first, but they don't offer the winter clematis for sale on their US website. All the other sites listed were for the UK.It's not been available here until a few years ago. Do you know of any growers there who might be able to import plants to propagate?
