I'm setting my alarm for 3:30am because the forcast now is snow for 4am and since it's so rare to get snow this far South, I want proof !! 😂😂😂

Hey!! It warmed up this morning!! We are at 19°F !!! Expected to get to 37!! Woo hoo!!! I'll take it!!! Better than a high of 12°F!!
 
It's 27f expected to get up to a whopping 36 degrees !!

One intrepid traveller, just one, has driven past in the last hour and a half. He was in a Dually !! IMG_1643.webpWe had mostly sleet. At least 1 1/2" deep in the yard, probably 2" and they changed our prediction from snow to rain. This is why I have my cleats !! Got right down the icy steps no problem !! 😄
Rags is a real Prima Dona !! No rain, no wind, definitely no snow, (which she's seen for the first time today) and no bugs will she tolerate. Runs away if a gnat is after her !! 😂😂😂😂
The new forcast is for a low of 16 tonight !! That's zone 8a weather !! They moved our climate zones the wrong direction !!

Come to the Ozarks!! We will give you all the ice ,snow and sub zero temperatures you can handle!! We're in the Ozarks highland region!! Mother nature can get down right hateful here!! But wait!! There's more!! In the spring it's time for tornado season!! We have a saying here... If you don't like the weather , stick around, it'll change in 5 minutes 🤣🥶⛈️🌨🌪☀️❄️🤦

I lived in North Dakota for a year and a half when I was a kid in the 70s. Absolute hell on earth!! I remember 30 below zero wind chill during the blizzards!! We have it bad enough here!! I will never live that far north again!!! No trees to slow the wind!! The only trees were along the Missouri River and what farmers planted along fields for wind breaks. Wind straight from Canada!!! I was happy to escape the third blizzard and move to Tucson Arizona!!
 
The weirdest thing happened. I heard this screeching sound, like fingernails being sl~ooooowly drug down a blackboard. I thought it must be a car going by with a locked up brake or some other mechanical trouble but, looking outside, nobody was on the road.

A few minutes went by and I heard it again only this time I was right by my front door and it sounded like something was on top of the front porch roof. Maybe a bird was sliding on the ice? So, I went out and looked.

Evidently, the whole sheet of ice that was lying on top of the front porch, had slid down !!
You can see the impression of the metal roof in the ice sheet !! Weird, aint it !! 😳
And it refroze and is just hanging off there, probably will have a total avalanche once the sun melts it tomorrow. 😄

For goodness sake be careful, that will be sharp and heavy. I would knock it down if I were you - it could do some serious damage!😱
 
Why ,yes!! I believe everyone should know what we live with in the Ozarks country side!! I could be still in Los Angeles. Watching everything burn ro ashes! I lived only 5 miles from the San Gabriel mountains , what's been totally destroyed . I used to frequent many of these places like Eaton canyon. All gone now. Nothing but rubble and rock . The rain later will bring landslides cause of no vegetation left to hold the foothills together. So hey, it's not so bad here!! Everyone has some bad where they live at some time.

I tried this morning to knock it down. I hit it with my broom handle... made a small dent, fine bits of ice fell like snow.
So I hit it harder, and harder...nope, not even a crack !! I bet it's 2" thick !!

I think that, IF and when it warms up and starts dripping water, then I can get it down. 😎
 
Today a high of 37f only. We are stuck in the reversal of the polar vortex and have those polar winds and cold all the way down here !! With the wind the temps feel like 10 degrees !!😨
Also, the National alerts we get for things like weather, food recalls, flu warnings, etc. the "Once again" thing in office has decided to tell all those agencies to stop disseminating those warnings, cuz, ya know, it's "best" we should be kept in the dark. 😠
