Sunny with light winds from the south west temp 5c feels like 2c

Here in the Scottish Highlands the wind reached gale force yesterday with rain. The central belt lower down, Edinburgh and Glasgow, had wind speeds reaching 100mph. The Isle of Man, off the north-west coast of England, where my daughter lives, recorded a wind speed of 94mph and the Department of Infrastructure there declared a 'major incident' with thirty roads closed due to fallen trees. The island is only 38 miles long by 13 miles wide and would have been at a standstill.

Today has ben sunny and calmer here.

Most of my snow's melted except for on the North side of the yard and back in the shade garden. The avalanche pile is mostly melted but I find a victim in the snow...

How the heck this itty-bitty frog got all the way up on the roof I'll never know, but he got snow covered and evidently, died.

It stopped raining at 8.30am now it's trying to brighten up but still cloudy with a gentle breeze from the west temp 7c feels like 5c

How the heck this itty-bitty frog got all the way up on the roof I'll never know,

I have found them when cleaning out gutters a couple of times, puzzled me how they made it up there.

BBC weather said it was going to be horrid today, but it was actually quite nice with a bit of sunshine at times. Much warmer, I hated that biting cold wind.

If you looked it up you probably saw the "Anthony " Commercial. There was one before that, Around 1960 that was so subliminal that everyone in Massachusetts who saw it still always thinks "Prince Spaghetti Day" when anyone asks what day it is on wednesdays !!

It had a black screen that said in big white letters "Today is Wednesday" which faded away then an Italian lady walks forward with a huge platter of spaghetti with steaming hot sauce on top. Brings it right up close so you can imagine you are smelling and tasting that s'ketti !!

That picture fades away and a black screen comes up with big white letter: " It's Prince Spaghetti Day" .

That was the most subliminal commercial I've ever seen !! 60 years later it's still burned in my mind. Pity is, they don't sell Prince Spaghetti South of the Mason/ Dixon line !!
