Anybody over a certain age in the UK knows the tune to "Heinz beans, baked beans, they're the beans for me."

Full on, beautiful sunshine here, and predicted for the next few days. The downside is clear skys this time of year mean it will be cold at night.

Today was very sunny with a gentle breeze from the west north west temp 5c feels like 3c.
Now it's a clear sky and light winds from the west south west temp 2c feels like -1c

Next week they predict highs in the mid to upper 70's all week !! I am so tempted to follow my premonition that we will have an early spring and get my monster tomato plants planted out in the garden. I'm going to start hardening them off and see how it goes .

I planted some early moneymaker, then some more, and there will be more, plus RAF and Ailsa Craig in February, and will probably carry on. It adds up to a lot of plants, but most get given away and I only keep the few very best. If the first don't make it, so be it, there are more coming, if they do I'll get a really great succession, and if there is a cold September /October I might end up making green tomato chutney, but how bad's that?
