The seed starting itch 😳

The aluminium at the back is on cardboard as a light wall. I got the idea when I watched Geoff Hamilton on gardeners world making a light box.
I was surprised to learn that actually brilliant white emulsion reflects more light than anything else, silver foil is actually expensive and quite a lot less reflective, not what I thought intuitively.

It's aluminium cooking foil which isn't expensive and I've used it for years and keep it and it does reflect the light,i don't want the smell of paint anywhere near my seedlings.

I haven't got any and I'm not buying it just for that, i can manage with the foil but thanks anyway.:)
I've used foil before, when I had my table up against the inner wall of the dining room. I felt the plants needed more light than my grow lights were giving them. Some things were growing a bit spindley. So, now I've moved the table to the South window and they get sunlight and grow lights and none have grown spindley !! 😄

It's still freezing outside, I want to get leeks and my next lot of tomatoes started, and soon it will be chilli and peppers as well, onions are coming through nicely and I would like to pot them on, but I don't really want to do it all standing in a freezing cold greenhouse, even if most of them would com i to a propagator; I'll wait a day or three and see if it warms up.

My Yukon gold and Red norland potatoes are chitting !! I have a cold, empty closet next to my livingroom fireplace that stays around 60 degrees and they chitted in there.

I also have 2 bags of red onions. I'm going to plant out about 50 tomorrow. Then 2 of each of my chitted potatoes. See how that goes

Judging by all the results you keep getting, I would have to say you sure have green fingers !

Fleabane has come up, took a week. It probably doesn't need the heat but i did it anyway.

This is what they'll look like, i use them in my hanging baskets.

They are hardy in places but i like to grow some more.
I call that 'Erigeron' Logan, it's lovely for growing on rocky walls, and is perennial. It's lovely! Outside it seeds itself really well. I had never used it in hangers though - brilliant idea 😃

Yes i agree with everything you say about it and it's better than the half hardy lobelia for hanging baskets. I've had it growing in our driveway that's tarmaced.

The tomato plants are just getting out of hand !! That'll teach me not to plant so early next time !! 😄

I only have a couple more inches before my grow light reaches the top so, I'm going to have to get a few bricks out of the yard to heighten the light stands. 🤔 I guess.

Then, most of my cone flowers have come up after 7 days germinating. These are called "Clasping Cone flowers" Dracopis Amplexicaulis.

I liked the green/black/yellow-orange colors.

I polinated this Courgette flower this morning. Perhaps I'll get a squash from it.😁

And, lastly, My sweet peppers, this being the biggest plant of the four, right now, are all doing well !! 😄
