I was surprised to learn that actually brilliant white emulsion reflects more light than anything else, silver foil is actually expensive and quite a lot less reflective, not what I thought intuitively.
It's aluminium cooking foil which isn't expensive and I've used it for years and keep it and it does reflect the light,i don't want the smell of paint anywhere near my seedlings.

I've used foil before, when I had my table up against the inner wall of the dining room. I felt the plants needed more light than my grow lights were giving them. Some things were growing a bit spindley. So, now I've moved the table to the South window and they get sunlight and grow lights and none have grown spindley !!I haven't got any and I'm not buying it just for that, i can manage with the foil but thanks anyway.

I call that 'Erigeron' Logan, it's lovely for growing on rocky walls, and is perennial. It's lovely! Outside it seeds itself really well. I had never used it in hangers though - brilliant idea
Yes i agree with everything you say about it and it's better than the half hardy lobelia for hanging baskets.
