They grow happy, those species, where it's dry and California grows lots of poppies too. Here, they just wither. Probably the humidity along with the heat.I saw one in my desert book called Arizona Poppy
Thanks Zigs it would be nice to see your succulent called jelly beans.Nice one Logan

Still more fungi coming up, there are a lot of them, but in between there are a couple of plants just showing. I am doubting everything now, did I spill onion seed? Are they weeds? Will they turn into tomatoes? Maybe I will get some more seed anyway, that should guarantee germination of the saved ones, not that I am superstitious or anything
I mixed Brimstone with my Onion seed compost before sowing, so far only onions coming up. The Leeks started to push through today too
Yes, it makes gardening more fun because I don't pine away for spring weather to come; I can enjoy seeing my little seedling grow through our short winters and get an early crop in the ground for possibly a May harvest !!How fantastic, to get those kinds of results in January would be unheard of here. Zigs just said that he actually saw his seedlings had leaned a bit towards the light when the sun managed to peep through temporarily today. Ours have had little light and little heat, that's why I don't usually bother with anything much until about the end of February. Seeing your results there must make winter feel like a friendly time of year
