From the Veggie Garden Today

Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to do a lot of work on the garden lately. My youngest being a senior and our oldest moving back home and starting his first year coaching football has us running around like we're mad.
Certainly understandable @Mike . In terms of weather, it has been a terrible season to have a fall garden in most all of Texas. Unrelenting heat coupled with drought has made this fall one of the worst I can remember. Good luck on those strawberries!

More green beans, some peppers, and one Daikon radish pulled from the cover crop (who said you can't eat out of your cover crop?)

The 6 gallons of green beans will be largely canned for winter consumption. I like fall canning because the veggies just seem fresher when opened.

The Daikon radish is sweeter, juicier, and less spicy or peppery tasting than their cousins the red radish. It is a great choice to include in cover crops with roots extending up to 24 inches into the soil.

First day of November and there's still Courgettes on the plant. This usually heralds 6 inches of snow the next day

I wish I had some squash growing now. I probably could have but the storm before Helene in June? Maybe? I forget. Got me all in a tizzy and I never got them planted.

I f you do get snow I would love to see it!! I haven’t seen a snowfall since 2019 when visiting a friend in Kentucky. It snowed there in September!!

Will do Annie, this was around the garden 3 years ago (Apart from the little building with the round roof, that's across the road)

I had to take a rabbit away from a certain four legged thing yesterday after he butchered it on the new bedroom carpet 🙄😬
Was that that cat? I had a bobtailed cat that used to bring home baby rabbits. He carried them by the nap of the neck, like they were kittens, and would bring them, screaming like banshees into the house. I don't know how many I had to pull out from under my bed and take back outside. 😕

I can't believe that I missed this video that you posted !! I loved it!! Especially the snow falling scene and all the snow stuck to the trees and bushes !! My snow came with so much wind that there was nothing on the trees, all the snow was only covering the ground and my veg in the raised beds.

Yep, this one didn't survive long enough to take back outside 😬
