Tiny aster? or what weed is this?

The bud is pink then it opens pale pink and finishes white. The stem is very strong. I mow these down in the grass. I have them in patches here and there. Thet don't get much bigger nor do they get wider. If I don't mow them they bloom late summer into...now !!😂

Looking at some similar photos online, it definitely looks like aster to me. I think this "smooth swamp aster" looks the closest to anything else I could find, but this site doesn't list your hardiness zone.

It looks very similar only mine only gets about 8" tall. That might be because it's not in or near a swamp If it's swamp aster it must be very adaptable to sandy soil because that's where it's growing.

For what it's worth, I did end up finding a lot of different variants of aster that all looked like that "swamp aster", but had different common names. My guess is that it's just aster and, depending on where you live, it has a multitude of different common names.
