I've gotten five romaine plants growing from cuttings. I'm still a novice so tell me how I'm doing and please grade/critique/criticize anything and everything I say here, its how I learn!!! Here they are;

This is my first one. Its root system seems pretty well established to me, So I'm thinking its time to plant in dirt.

This is my second one. He's having a bit of an issue. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but the leaves are all curly and brown on the edges.

This is my third one. Roots are about four days old. From this point the roots start really going crazy! She should be ready for dirt in another three to five days I'm thinking.

This is my fifth one, Its two days old!!! I ran out of tumblers, lol, so he's chilling with a celery plant till I pot another romaine.

This guy is doing well, this is my fourth romaine plant. Leaves seem to be doing well. Just waiting for roots.

Anyway, tell me if I'm on the right track and please correct me if anything I'm thinking is wrong!

You should change the water they're in before it gets yellowish. Use warm water. I would've put them in dirt to start with because roots formed in water are usually thin , weak, and easily damaged. Once transplanted into soil they can break easily.

I had no idea. I have very little dirt though... 2.4 acres and its all freaking sand!!! I'll buy some potting mix when I get paid and get all of these guys into some dirt. Thanks for the tip!!!
