Coming along very nicely! I'd love to do something like this in my back yard but I'm afraid I'd just screw the whole thing up...

What's up with you Mike, nothing ventured, nothing gained. You have all the instructions there to follow, and if you're not sure about the herringbone pattern you can still have a go with square slabs. @Mr_Yan It is all looking superb! The warm colour of the bricks makes such a difference to the white concrete you removed.
