I think that's Lonicera purpusii, winter beauty - had to think back, but It's one I brought back from work to plant out as stock years ago.
They are both Camellias, but yours has a bigger flower than Sasanqua, ( and as you say they bloom in the autumn time.) The one you have there does look the same, but is larger in flower and blooms in the winter and in early springtime. That is Japonica!This was labeled Sasanqua Camellia, but they bloom in fall !! So, this is what caught my eye.

Chaenomeles then, plenty of varieties - no blue ones though ..... another plant from Japan!

There are certain bush roses I would love to grow but my soil is too acidic. We grow what we can, don't we.I would prefer it. Trouble is, I can't grow it so well because our soil is too chalky.

There was only one nursery that sold them and you got 1 for $25.@Anniekay over here "Wendy's Gold" is one of the cheaper yellows I've come across. How much are they in the USA?
