TLDR: My tomato plants are crazy overgrown (I think). I need advice on trimming them.
I was gifted 12 tomato plants this season (unknown varieties) and they have grown WILD!! Being a novice, my suspicion is that the overcrowding is causing them to stay on the vine for much longer than they should (perhaps air flow problems?). Admittedly, I don't know that length of time either. I do know that I have clusters of green tomatoes that have been hanging there for close to a month already (if not longer). They are on an auto-drip (calculated) system and get general tomato/veg fertilizer monthly.
Are these needing to be trimmed? If so, how is the best way to do this?
Thank you.
